Your Surroundings

You can walk out of your back gate and experience all the delights of Southern Dartmoor - everything from wooded valleys, rushing rivers, hidden lanes and humpback bridges, to high moors and tors with the sea sparkling in the background.

Just below your securely fenced field, there is a beautiful stretch of the River Avon which you can go down to, sit and relax by, or cool off in.

A short walk (15mins) through the woods brings you to Shipley Bridge, which has an unused road going to the Avon Dam and reservoir. This gives unrivalled access into the interior of the moors along the pretty river avon valley where there are plenty of pools to do a spot of wild swimming.

Just 500m away, up the old drovers road of Diamond Lane is open moorland, where the possibilty of walks are endless and where you'll hardly meet a soul.

You can also take a delightful walk across country in to the village of South Brent 1 1/2 miles away to top up on your supplies, or visit one of its pubs or cafes.
